I have relatives moving onto the pasquotank, about 2 miles south of the coast guard station south of elizabeth city. does anyone have any info.on what kind of fishing is available in that area? i know there are largemouth further upriver, but i know nothing about the southern end of the river. Is it too salty for largemouths and too fresh for stripers, flounder, and trout?
Any info. would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Good Evening,

I also live very close to the Pasquotank River Northern end. I have heard about the stripers. I was looking at a chart of the river today and looks like some nice depth changes. Is that the kind of things stripers like to hang around? I came from Florida and if you found a good depth change you found fish. Any help would be geat.

You can catch stripers all up and down the Pasquotank. Just depends on the time of year and of course the weather. Some places to try are the Pasquotank tower, the bay in front of Newbegun Creek, main river points in front of Dukes Swamp and Arneause Creek. As for the largemouth, I have caught them in the sound all the way up to Goat Island. The Pasquotank would be even better if Elizabeth City would stop dumping millions of gallons or raw sewage into the river and I just have a feeling that the desalition plant that Camden has put into operation will sooner or later effect the fishing in that area.
