Yolo,
Thanks for the info. I am new to striper fishing and can use any info to help in catching them. I have only caught bass out there using hair jigs. So I am sticking to them until I can get hold of some decent lures. We dont have a Bass Pro Shop here in the Valley, sucks!

Here are some more catches from the past month. The DD's have been really showing. I can't remember ever having such a great month in my 25 years of duct fishing. These are only the DD's. There were more smaller fish caught on other days but I didn't include them. Most of these DD's were released. Some kept for me and some gave to the various guys I was fishing with.

ZUKO, I have caught Two real nice fish out of Hesperia.....but nothing in over a year:icon_cry:..not trying to discourage you....I still fish it regularly, hoping to hook up and experience the rush just one more time..ha ha...unfortunately haven"t been able to fish the duct for a couple months (sciatica):5387:...my leg is starting to feel a lot better so I'm sure I'll be out there again real soon. Don't ever see too many people fishing for striper out there (mostly catfish)......also I have fished Silverwood a few times from shore (at the dam) using anchovies....just caught a couple catfish.....I have caught a few small striper from shore at cleghorn(Silverwood).....good luck ....please post when you catch something...need more reports from this area...........

Mike, Sorry to hear about the back. When you get well head out my way. Been getting them still just not making any reports on the other sites. Water has been very stained with almost no visibility for weeks. The moss has been a problem early this year too and has been floating in the water column for several weeks already too. Hope you get better before it really starts to break loose and it becomes nearly impossible to fish it. It's going to be bad this year as far as the weeds and moss go.

Z, I knew you were still catching as always! I almost went today after work, my leg is feeling a bit better, the wind changed my mind. I hope to get out Fri. ,Sat. or both after work. If nothing else just to see the conditions and get my line wet. Thanks for the invitation. I need to get out there with you so I can catch something! Till then tight lines, Mike

hit the cali at Grayson truck stop area with the low flow during the day the water is clear and hair raisers are working really good along with anchovies ...LOTS of action the past couple of weeks ..south side of the bridge on the west bank has worked for me . using a catfish rig with the top hook about 5-6 feet off the bottom and 2/0 hooks ..Good luck

lots of action here in tracy area in the cali aquaduct , i've been teaching a guy at work how to fish and cast after work and he hooked a couple of stripers last night, I landed two 15 inchers and a 19 incher . the couple of days before had much of the same results on anchovies with the hooks 2 and 4 feet off the bottom.:pigroast1:

Hello. Guys am new to this site and forum and I love fishing. I would like to ask you guys if u know of a good spot to fish in the kern aqueduct, I live in Arvin ca. And the places that I've fished in are Lake Ming and Hart park lake, and I would like to fish in the aqueduct so if anybody can help and tell me a good accesible spot in the aqueduct near Bakersfiel I would really apreciate it.
