o.k. guys, i FINALLY did it! roc called me monday morning and asked that
magical question..."wanna go fishin?" since my plan for the day consisted
of a)watching jerry springer, b)shopping and c) lunch with my mom (a/k/a
mrs roc) i immediately jumped at the offer! 10 minutes later i was on my way to my very first striper adventure!
the day started with a bunch of schoolies, mid-day found me checking
out a white catfish, and for the grand finale a 29" beauty ( who was released, of course!) at times i was just getting the rod into the holder and
roc would be saying "fish on" - it was BUSY!
in any case, i loved every minute and i can't wait to do it again...SOON!
so here's a HUGE thank-you to roc for thinking of me and for his guidance & patience! icn___clap.gif
Thats awesome absolut. Glad to hear you got out. I remember those days fishing for catfish with him, that can be a real ball too. Glad to had a good time. Hopefully you guys took some pics and you can post some. Would love to see them.
thank you! roc said that he's created a monster... happy3.gif
jerry's a "guilty pleasure" reserved for my all too infrequent days off...
he's a great alternative to:cleaning the house & grocery shopping
fishing was an even BETTER alternative!
thanks for the nod, jimi! let me just say i was intrigued by most of what i saw right down to the insides of all those poor little herring roc was hacking to pieces! god it was fun!
Yup, women who like to striper fish are a rare find. I'm lucky enough to be married to one. My wife Meg loves to fish with me. She prefers fishing for largemouth bass, but likes to go after line siders with me whenever I go.
we used chunks of "very dead herring" and roc baited the hooks...
Before any one judges me....i OFFERED to bait my own hooks but roc
INSISTED on doing it!
funny you should mention fishing with you tony - i was on a jetty in
kennebunkport yesterday watching this guy fish and i thought "wouldn't it be funny if that was tony!" nice guy - he didn't catch anything but he
did point out former president bush heading out for a day of fishing!
Roc is a gentlemen but more important, a better fishermen than me. So if I were you, I'd stick with Roc if you want to catch fish.
No judgement intended Terri. I hate handling live Anguilla rostrata. Wonder if I can get Roc to bait my hook?
You were only 15 miles away from where our Maine house is, 10 miles by boat. I stay far away from Kennebunkport during weekends. In fact the only time I go there is when company requests to see George's estate. Most times I try to talk them out of it or suggest going by boat. Way to touristy and crowded for me.
