HI guys went out the other day was doing 25 mph then the speedo went dead, were do i start looking .were is the speedo conected to what?
i went and ored a repair manual Seloc but there is noting in there on speedo repaies can any body help here.

Herm,
could be two things,if it has an external pick up it could be blocked or kicked up,it will be mounted on the the transome if it has one, if it comes off of the drive there is a small hole in the leading eddge of the drive that could be blocked....

Went up today after cleaning the hole you told me about, and that fixed the trouble i was haveing with the speedo.works just like new

my spedo quit also 4.3 merc with a alpha 1 drive I know where the tube goes into the unit on the drive but where is the hole to clean is it the one just near the spedo connection on the lower unit what do i do to clean it
any input will help
