For stripers, head to the west section in areas such as Big Break, Broad Slough or False River. Rat-L-Traps and broken back Rebels work best. Black bass action is wide open, so just find moving water and pull out Senkos

Salmon action picked up a little, although mostly for jacks, up in the south fork of the Mokelumne River around Whimpy's down through sloughs such as Hog Slough. Jig with a 2-ounce Gibbs Minnow on the bottom in deeper holes. Striped bass action came from Mildred Island on bluegill or minnows. False River is the place to head with Rat-L-Traps. Try Disappointment Slough if you're looking for a place to throw frogs for black bass

SAN JOAQUIN RIVER

SAN JOAQUIN RIVER side - Stripers from schoolies up to 15 pounds were taken on broken - back Rebels and by trolling at about three m.p.h. throughout the system. Bass fishing was slow, the fish are lethargic. Work your presentations slowly.
