Crabs are an excellent striper bait but most of
the bait stealers down my way (NYC area) are
those black nasty hairy spider crabs.
They dont look like a meal even for a fish.
Most crustaceans are great bait especially crab and lobster.
When plagued by crabs change baits frequently every 10 minutes
or use a fireball rig with the cork float on it.
Peeler crabs are the best crabs to use as bait.
