It was a beautiful day on the lake. Clear weather. Warm air. There were quite a few people fishing, too. On the sonar I could see the fish in about 20+ feet of water. They appeared to be hanging with the shad and the shad appeared to spread out, hugging the lake bottom. Had a couple of real solid hits on a silver Kastmaster, but nothing took. Leads me to believe that I was pulling the lure across their backs, but it was not actually getting bit fish. Tried chicken livers and turkey livers, both of which I find repulsive to work with. Just had no luck, except for one fat little yellow bass that bit my Kastmaster. Used silver, gold, chartreuse, blue/white, all to no avail. It was fun being out, but I have yet to figure out how to pattern these cold water wipers.
