Took a dozen live shad to Stubbs Bridge area evening of June 3 (Saturday) after most pleasure boaters left. Presented them at all depths on several drifts and only caught one 25" striper. May have missed one or two others on takedowns but no hookup. Didn't mark many fish. Fish's belly was completely empty for what it is worth.

Surface temp was a balmy 81 degrees. Didn't hear or see much topwater action. Checked a few points at the splits and didn't mark any fish.

It was a nice evening. Caught a few catfish. Was hoping for a few more striper.

Cool, one 25" and a few takedowns is better than some of my trips down there. welcome.gif Where are you from? I usually try to hit Lake Anna Oct-Apr before all the idiots get out there. Breaks up the winter blues too. Where do you live that you head down or up to lake anna.

I live in Charlottesville. Takes an hour to get to Lake Anna for me. Close enough I can try to get some evening trips in during the week if I leave work early. :) I know what you mean about the yahoos there....rediculous. Saturday night I watched a pontoon boat drag an innertube around in the freaking dark with a small child on the back. Sadly it is like that everywhere now.
