Has anyone started to catch stripers yet. I don't want to miss this year of fishing. I hate to go and spend my time taking pictures of the shore. I want to go this weekend 3-16-13. I'm not an avid fisherman, but I want to start catching some fish. :cook:

I've personally been out to my nearest beach, canal, and a salt marsh. Although the scenery is just magnificent, there doesn't seem to be a single fish or sign of one. But the season doesn't start till later so there's still some time:icon_thumright:

Just search your state's saltwater fishing regulations which include the season beginning and ending for specific types of fish.read2.gif

The water is still a little too cold. Hopefully by mid April things will start.

Over the last several years I have noticed that you will start seeing some bass about 1 week after the guys fishing the Mullica River area start catching. think about Raritan Bay or the western Long Island North Shore, wherever you have muddy bottoms, late afternoon with sunshine, fishing into dark.
