New Mexico Division of wildlife weekly reports Scroll down for Elephant Butte

ELEPHANT BUTTE: Bluegill, buck tail jigs with chartreuse trailers, swim shad and deep running crank baits are providing great action for striped bass. Most of the fish taken this past week were in the five-to-twelve pound class and were taken by anglers working from Rattlesnake Island south to the Butte. Umbrella rigs with buck tails were providing the hottest action

ELEPHANT BUTTE:

ELEPHANT BUTTE: Umbrella rigs, jigs and live bait are providing the best trolling and drifting act ion for striped bass. Most of the fish are being taken off the edges of the main channel trolling and drifting at depths of 10-to-15 feet. A few are also being taken by anglers fishing from the bank and by those casting top water lures in the late evening and early night time hours. Most are still in the five-to-eight pound class.

New Mexico Division of wildlife weekly reports
ELEPHANT BUTTE: Striped bass continued to provide the best action for anglers this past week. We had reports of stripers being taken on live bait, top water lures, umbrella rigs, jigs, clouser minnows and deep running crank baits. Striper reports were received from anglers fishing areas from just above Kettle Top to Hospital Canyon. Anglers fishing for stripers also caught a few white bass and catfish. A few anglers managed to find schools of white bass and caught several while using crank baits and top water lures.
