Always nice to see...when a kid in the 60's the DDT (insecticides running into water, baitfish ingesting the chemical, raptors eating fish) had caused thin egg shells and the eagles were disappearing; I also remember seeing Lake Erie on the news, when it was on fire....
Then living in Maryland during the 90's, the striper population was so decimated they were totally closed down for fishing--they'd take your rods and gear, your boat and your vehicle if caught with stripers in your possession.
It's nice to see the recuperative power of life on earth. Let's keep it up.
I know we can all do better, but when I catch a striper now, or see an eagle I am hopeful...it wasn't always this way. God bless America.
