I know most of us use the same bottom rigs, but does anyone have a preference for how long the dropper is for the sinker. I usually tie a bunch up with 6lb test line and usually go from 12 to 18 inches and 3 to 4 oz. I spoke with a guy yesterday who catches a lot of fish and he attaches the sinker right to the clip on the slide. Any advice--BB your the drift fishing expert. Another thing they do which blow me away is they drift fish where they can almost touch the shoreline. I always thought you had to stay in 20 to 30 feet of water.

I put the sinker right on the clip of the slider when drifting i like to use two 2 oz egg sinkers on the main line the egg sinkers clanking together seem to work pretty good also some spot right tight to shore are 20FT deep :a_goodjob:

We do not use a dropper at all, just weight right to the clip. Haven't heard of using a dropper before.

As for depth, we let the schools of fish tell us where they are. Could be any where from 10'-45' ... once we get one we will stick close to that depth to try and find more.

I very seldom use the sinker slide when drifting as the currents tend to get the whole rig whipping around and sometimes your main line will get tangled with your leader. I normally put just my 3 or 4 oz egg sinker on the main line above the swivel with a bead, set my depth and run with that. I have found that I screw up a lot less rigs that way. However when you get stuck you risk losing everything but if you stay on top of your lines normally you are ok.
