[IL fisherman]

I live in central Illinois and have never been striper fishing. I’m looking for a lake and a guide. I’ve heard about Lake Cumberland and Texoma the latter being quite a drive. My trip will be late March. I’m open to suggestions as I know very little. Thank you!

Beaver Lake or Lake Norfork in AR are much closer and have excellent striper fishing. You could also head over towards Eastern TN where there are plenty of river based systems that hold large stripers as well. Just google striper guides and there are many to chose from in each location.

I mainly fish Beaver because the avg sized fish is bigger and we routinely catch 30-40lb fish along with plenty in the 10-20 range that we can eat.
