Me and a buddy tried scapping sum herring in the catskill area, tried three spots where they are always when they are here. Dont no what the river temp is here but was told that this morning the creek was running at 41 deg. No luck but what a beautiful day. Hopefully these nice days will help. BY the way i fished the incoming tide.

the water is too cold for the herring to move. I think they are suspened between 15 and 30 feet out in main channel right now, around kingston area. they will not move untill water reaches 46-48 degrees. when you see herring surface and bubble at surface water temp is around 48- 50 degrees. then......it's time!!!! get in the dam boat and :cheers:go fishin!
