I went from Jiminy Peak to the Onota Boat Livery to get parts for my outboard on Monday after skiing...... seemed like a great transition!
Tackle is ready. Grabbing boat this weekend. Getting psyched !!!! Almost go time. I hit onota marina a couple weeks ago as well.
Stuff is all ready weather is looking shit though as long as we don't get snow iam happy
I’m thinking of taking the cover off of the boat next week. Keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t get any more snow 🤞🏻

A new, impending Striper season feels to me now, as Christmas did as a kid! Can’t wait to see what Fishy Santa has in store for us!

hopefully drizzle rain, overcast, 60 degrees, and no wind. LOL.

anyone else heard claims of a 40 inch caught at Troy dam & a 41 near saugerties?
I haven’t and seems pretty early and cold for Troy. Usually April 15th or so is when Albany gets action in my experience
This is the earliest I've seen herring around i was at hh today and the bait eaters were getting there fill every other dive they were coming up with herring ...the guys on shore were getting them to but 1 every 15 to 20 cast with the stoolie ...it's just the beginning

Still waiting on the bait to arrive north to troy dam. Last two days of jigging skunked, nothing this far north. Stripers are here, witnessed a 40"+ caught on a whole herring thrown from the bank (first cast). Water temp is still chlly. Won't be long 👍👏👏
Newburgh launch ramp season pass is in hand.
Tom,
Since you mentioned launching from Newburgh, can you give me any catch info on the Bay and north or south of the Bridge??
Long drive for our crew and looking to be sure the action is on in that area.
Thanks for some help

I was out last Friday for a few hours one bass 8 lbs the water temp was 54 degrees. Going out tomorrow to see how things have shaped up over the week. It has been cold I don't expect any major improvement heard the fish were still down around Nyack. Hope this helps will know more tomorrow
