Looks like it's going to be a bit nasty tomorrow with a stiff east wind. I suppose Fluke is out. Anyone think the East could spur a bass bite?

by Rich Troxler In my years of surf fishing, I have come across many, of what I consider to be misconceptions, regarding 2 related conditions. The first is how does wind affect fishing, and the second is about white water, a term that gets used a lot in connection with wind and surf fishing...

Do any of you look at the wind forecast before heading out? Do you then look at how where you plan on fishing is facing in conjunction with the wind? Now I am talking about shore / surf fishermen mainly here as I am sure that boaters do. If so, what resources do you use?

I received an email form a SR from Barrington High School today wanting to send me some questions on my thoughts of the proposed offshore wind farms. He is trying to gather thoughts on what will it do to marine life? Effects on the ocean environment? What will happen to the fishing grounds? Well...

I switched line. I used Spiderwire Stealth and Fireline( on my Penns). I don't remember having any of those annoying wind knots with these lines mentioned above. In the past I've used other braids and seemed to have be undoing these knots quite frequently. Maybe because I'm finally getting...

Paddled out to Faun Bar Sunday, T&W fishing. Winds kicked up rough seas for kayak and nothing was hitting. Retreated back off of the rip to Point Shirly; all small ones, Snake Island produced one keepa. Paddled like hell to offset the wind, what a workout. It was worth it for a few fish!
