You don't have to go back to the distant past to find unusual winter weather. Winter 2001-02 was relatively warm while 1988-89 & 1990-91 were not too snowy, similar to this winter so far. Does anyone here have any personal journals/records of whether the striper season in the Hudson was any...

The fish have been turning on to the topwater bite lately. Ever since the water temp hit 80 and the flows stabilized after the rain, the Hybrid catching has improved. Caught this big girl last night. She was full of eggs. Kind of weird. I know that hybrids can't reproduce, but it didn't occur...

I want to see water get down to 55-65 degrees!!! We caught a couple of nice blues this past weekend, but no...

Got a supprise last saturday night at 10pm while blue cat fishing on the james river down here in VA. Air temps were in the 20's and the water was in the mid-40's. After catching a 38lb blue cat we saw a school of fish chasing bait on the fish-finder when 4 rods went down boy it was fun. Landed...

The lousy weather isnt the deterrent. The water temps around NYC are still in the lower seventies. Heres hoping it changes soon. Tonight its 15 to 20 knots and 4 foot seas. These colliding systems should lower the water temp some. Tomorrow night the wind is 5 to 10 and 1 foot sees. No small...
