Fairly new to fishing. bought a 17.5 ' Bass Pro 2000 model. Have many poles and reels. Even bought a fishing license. All dressed up but need to know how!
Been to Silverwood many times and only caught a few Stripers. Everone else seems to be catching fish out of there, so its me...
I am in town and would like to try to fish Lake silverwood for some stripers. how is the shore fishing this time of year? I don't have a boat but I can probably rent one if there's one available near by. Are there any recommendations?
i went to silverwood lake, threw out a line with a shad got bit after an hour, caught another one more bigger with a bluegill that was in the stomach of the first fish i got. the smaller one measured 25 1/2 inches

anything good going on? i have some time off from dec 20-jan2nd thinking about going to the dam and fishing off the rocks around 2 or 3am but seeing most the reports of fish in millers...anyone fish the dam with success?
Finally got back out there water is down 30ft. They said a pump station in palmdale got hit by lighting so no water in.
This lake is a real pain for me to figure out but I will be back got one cat 3lbs. and that was it.

we camped out at silverwood in the peak of the cold season.
we reserved 3 camp sites, as we were expecting over 30 people to show.

we pack our swimbaits and headed out around 12 am at 34 degrees, in this morning.
We hiked down the trail, and the temp dropped even more.

the water level was low the first 2 days and went back up 6ft or so on our last day there.
did manage to see large fish around the docks before the lice scared them off.
lots of jumpers at night with only a few fish to be caught.
the weather was sunny...
THE LAKE WAS LOADEED WITH LICE.
the meter showed scatterd fish, and only the dinks are available to bite.
had a couple of friends we me, they did pretty well.
most all dinks were released to grow up.lol
