So I was in Scarborough the other night, got into nine schoolies, but then pulled this thing out. Definitely not a Striper. Is this a shad? Maybe a herring?

Has anyone caught Hickory Shad in the upper Hudson i.e. Albany, Troy? I understand they are legal to keep and use as cut bait for stripers in N.Y. unlike the American Shad which are protected.

I have two aireated baitwells on my boat with curved corners. Are teses suitable for shad? I don't want to buy a bait tank if they will work.

Hello, My favorite bass fishing is in Jersey where we would snag bunker and then either bring them in and chunk them up or live line them. Does anyone do this in Maryland on the Potomac? Is it effective? It works very well in NJ and just wasn't sure if people did that here. Thanks!
