I seem to be knocking off a lot of scales this year. Any suggestions on how to keep my herring looking pristine? I only handle them when I put them on the circle hook. I don’t touch them when I get them on the sabiki. I slip them into the bait well and de-hook. Appreciate any tips.

i was in pep boys and came across two types of laquer type sprays. i was wondering if they would work for my scratch coat( or any other step). any one use these or think one will work?

I tried the bag over the plug. Holding it in place with clips, but it didn't give me a good or any scale finish. I checked this site but can not figure out what I did wrong. Please direct me to the thread that may have dealt with this problem before. Thanks!!

Has anyone heard anything about some kind of bacteria on some striped bass (I think near or on the scales)?? Unless I'm halicunating (entirely possible) I thought I heard of a person or two last year die from eating bass? anyone have any knowledge about this? :BenNudd:

Does anyone have a digital fish scale...I recently purchased the berkly 20 lb digital scale and it said i caught a 28 inch striper today that was 4.1 pounds and trust me it was not...I think i am going to exchange it...anyone have any suggestions for a replacement...What do you have, What have...
