Hey guys. My name is Eric and I'm fairly new to fishing stripers. I live and fish in Orange County, mostly drifting bloods. I'm hoping someone can tell me how long slack tide lasts for? My understanding is that fishing is very slow during slack? Any info is helpful. Thanks.

Right now I'm using a 12 ft Daiwa beefstick and I was wondering if it could possibly be a bit too much for stripers in the surf due to it being Heavy power. I mostly throw plugs and never really mess with bait. I know most people use Medium Heavy rod's and I was thinking maybe my Heavy might be...

I'm fairly new to striper fishing. Last year was my first serious attempt, i fished several weeks with no luck. i was using baitrunners, for my setup i used a 2 oz slip sinker with a 30in leader and a circle hook.I let the live herring hit bottom, and then just basically drifted with the current...

Whipping out 20 lb test monofilament with a phat 6 inch plug on the end, skirtin that bad boy across the surface as it cuts through the Alka-Seltzer surf, the sun disappearing into a melon colored sky to the west. Suddenly the lure disappears as if falling into a black hole; the explosion of the...

Here's a few I did up quick over the last week, I was running out of pencils, and I just like surfster style. Tried Sudsy's epoxy seal job, real happy with how that went. Final testing this evening! Our Spring Run showed signs of slowing down or being over, but it blew up again last night.

Here is my quick report....Fished yesterday afternoon out of HH Park from 3 pm until 9 pm. Had no luck jigging up any herring, tried working the stoolie, but I am a stoolie virgin and I don't know how successful it is from a boat. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of meeting fellow board...

I am going out Friday night Roc on the river. I only caught one Striper on an eel ever and it was drifting through the mouth. I want to troll and sling the eels this time on Joppa. If I use a baitcaster how do I set the reel in both of those situations? Appreciate your input, Brian

I just bought some eels (10) but I can't use them until later tonight 10ish, will they survive in the bucket with the small bit of water they put in at the bait shop? Should I add Ice now or later? Ive got to keep them protected from the ice correct? Thank You, BryanL
