What is the advantage of a cork tape or shrink tube handle? Why do you not see plugging rods with cork handles any more. I am having a rod built and was thinking of a custom cork split grip style handle. Just looking for pros and cons thanks bassbandit

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew which handles could be used on a 704. I see there are some handles for 710 and 712 models available. Can these be used on the 704? FYI, this is for the torpedo handles, not the paddles. Jay

Keeping my flyrods exposed in the sun, salt and whatever for years on the boat has taken its toll. The cork has discolored, shrunk and looking very craggy. Other that taking some sand paper to them. Is there anything I can do to fill in the crags? Maybe re-hydrate the cork? Any tips will be...
