OK, been lax in posting but so far in the Hudson its been productive. First striper of season was a 21 inch 3 year old. caught last Friday on a Cowens baitfish Streamer.

First it was the spiny dogs, then it was spiny dogs and skates, now it's just skates....This has been the longest stretch of surf fishing in ten years w/o any fish.... Oh well there should be a bit of action as the fish exit the DB, even if the main group of stripers pass 5 miles east of us....

I'm new to striper fishing here, just moved to NY last year and got my first ever striper. It was a 32 " fish rotten and dead. 2 firsts for me, first striper and first ever catching a dead fish. From what I'm reading and talking to local guys seems like these new regulations are not paying off...
