I have jigged herring under the Berkshire spur bridge, but have never tried further south. I know further north up to the dam it gets easier, but how far down can you jig up herring in the river itself?

So, when the stripers are reluctant to bite, I sometimes rig up a small piece of chunk on my jigging rod and play with the cats. Biggest I've caught is probably 3 pounds or so.... but a whole lotta fun when a 17 pound bass grabs my bait rod!

1) Fish must be brought for weigh-in by boat. 2) The Fishing boundaries for this derby are from the Catskill creek north to the troy dam.

Does anybody have any info on the Castleton boat club tournament? I was looking to enter it but wanted to check out the rules and how they do the pay outs before i took the days off from work . Any info would be great. Thanks

Well the fish were biting again which was awesome. We had to throw back a number of smaller ones, boated 8 in total topped with a #22.7 fish. The three of us placed 3rd,7th & 8th (it paid back 10-spots) add in another friend of ours got 9th ... which means we took 4 out of 10 spots on the money...
