Yesterday we picked through quite of few Blues in the late afternoon to get some Bass to cooperate. We finished with 6 Keeper Bass to 19 pounds and this weekend looks promising once the rain passes Thursday. We had mild temperatures Wednesday (near 70 degrees) and the fish were strongly marked...

Last night we had Bass under the Bunker schools and we saw Butterfish too! Fish were in the 36 inch range and willing to grab a 12 inch bunker. We got them on weighted shads and also Yo-Zuri crystal minnows as we were all by ourselves. This morning we had a mix of Blues and a few Bass. We do...

Our Afternoon trip was more of the same on live and chunked bunkers with Stripers in the 20-30 pound range and our largest Blue was in the 10 pound range. The New Penn Squall and Fathom reels are doing a nice job with 20-30 pound Berkley Pro Spec Mono and paired on the new Legion, Regiment...

We are in the heat of the battle with the fall season upon us off the NJ coast. Sailing out of Manasquan Inlet, we are into some big blues and Stripers are showing up in bigger numbers by the day! Water temps are still in the high 50's and we could be fishing right up to Christmas, "A December...

I've been fishing the East River with a fly rod with limited success. I recently saw a video where someone argued strongly that in fast water, like the East River, Stripers, and I guess blues, will be on the bottom where the current is slower. I always thought stripers like very fast water, and...
