Is there a time of year ,or when conditions are just right ,for live bait lake fishing. Or is it just a fisherman's preference ??
I have never used live bait ..or cut bait ..(or liver??) for wipers.

Using live bait (clams) has been very productive in catching stripers. Would artificial bait (soft or hard baits) work just as well?
