It seems the action is starting to heat up. Over the past three nights we have landed dozens of stripers and plenty of bait. Last night was the most productive with mostly keepers being caught. We also are catching catfish and largemouth all on alewifes. All in all it has been great.

Been out to my favorite spots a few times this month. We've been catching good numbers throughout the evening hours with 9-11 being the best. A few hogs caught, but mostly between the 15"-20" range. Also catching some secondary species (walleye and cats). It's a nice time to enjoy the lake...

8 in the boat today. Started catching them at 10:30 AM but we had to fish hard today. 3 of us and we all lost at least 2 fish a piece. Biggest was 11lb's 14oz. and we put him back as the box was full but 6 fish went home with us. Everything you need to know is in the picture. That's 15 fish in...

Got into the stripers at lake arthur again today. WOW, what a blast. 1:30pm susspended in the channel at 12 to 15 feet. Broke 2 off before I landed the first one. 25 in. then 3 more 23,25 1/2, 25 inches. Catching fish like that drew some attention from a couple of the locals so they came over to...

Went up after the hard rain and found many alewifes jumping along 528 bridge. Only fish that we caught were all undersize and few and far between. Out of four of us, there were 5 stripers, 1 channel cat, and 1 nice largemouth. I was personally skunked but I still had a great time. Didn't even...

The fishing was great from beginning to end. We landed about 15+ stripers with 3 biggies. The weather was cool with wind gusts throughout the night. The alewifes were jumping everywhere and the herons were flying all night. Fished from about 9:00pm to 3:30am. I'll be heading out again...

Striper action is finally heating up! The alewifes were plentiful and so were the fish. We caught about 15 average size, 1 big boy, and numerous misses. Also landed two really nice walleyes, a few channel cats, and largemouths. It was a perfect night for fishing.
  9. Pennsylvania's Lakes, Rivers and Impoundments
I got to the Lake around 7:30 and I noticed a few wifes breaking water. A few striper splashes here and there, but nothing to get too fired up about. Threw the cast net out and netted 4 wifes. We ended up catching 3 channel cats and no stripers. Hopefully the action heats up sooner than...

At Lake Arthur in Butler County, fishermen using small fatheads for bait have been getting decent numbers of yellow perch, said Ron Anderson of Appalachian Trails. Many of the fish have been as big as 10 to 12 inches. Striped bass have been hitting in the late afternoon and early evening on...
