LNSC schedules striper program
The Lake Norfork Striper Club will host the fourth annual Lake Norfork Striper Stocking Awareness program at 7 p.m. March 2 at East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home.
Mike Freeze, head commissioner for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has committed to attend. Freeze has a long, positive history with the striper stocking program in Arkansas.
Mark Oliver, the assistant head of fisheries, and Ken Shirley, the district biologist, will also be in attendance.
Issues to be addressed will include: the introduction of a 20-inch minimum length limit on stripers; more law enforcement on the lake; and the possibility of the installation of an oxygen infuser on Norfork Lake.
All fishermen with a positive interest in striper fishing and the welfare of Norfork Lake are asked to attend and show your support, according to a press release.
