Hey,

Tonight looks like a good night to go out and catch some stripers in the Central Valley (CA). Recent storms passed over, clear skies, and the threat of storms on the horizon sounds like a winning combo to me!

I'll be throwing out some chovies and Rat-L-Traps (maybe some bucktails if wind permits). Hopefully I'll reel in something more than wet anchovies

Ill keep ya posted.

Calikid,

You could probably buy them at one of the various bait shops in fresno. With Millerton Lake and Pine Flat Lake close by, im sure there is no short supply of bait and tackle shops. If you want frozen ones, hit up: http://www.aquaticfoods.com/testimonial.html

As for the Aqueduct last night, nothing. Little too cold I think (as well as no moon... wtf?)

HEY TACOMABOI8
I hope this helps.

Anglers in possession of a valid two-rod stamp and anglers under 16 years of age may use up to two rods in inland waters which regulations provide for the taking of fish by angling, except those waters in which only artificial lures or barbless hooks may be used. See District Trout, Salmon and Special regulations for exceptions.*

Hey Monster,

Sup buddy...went out on Monday and caught me a nice bass, no striper yet though. Going to keep hitting it up though. Took me 4 times to the duct to catch my first fish though. I hear this is the time of the year for decent striper out there. Hope to find some truth behind that.

Dang YOLO, you had some nice catches there, good pictures. You mostly fish lures or what? I saw in the one picture you had him hooked on a lure, just wondering if that is your go-to item, or just worked out that day for you?

RickyRick,
I use lures. That day they wanted the lipless crank. Other days its a soft jerkbait, bucktail, hard jerkbait, small swimbait etc. There are a lot of micro stripers (6") this fall too. It means they had a great spawn, which coincides with the high flow finally this year. It has been flowing wide open, non stop here since March. Just recently it has been 3/4 open gates but they are staying like that too so lots of flow. Probably because DVL is being filled with SWP water instead of Colorado river water because of the quagga mussel.
