St Croix Triumph Surf Rods: 9' 2 pc vs 9' 4 pc travel rod
I am in the market for a 9' rod plugging rod. I am also in the market for a travel for a travel rod. I have been looking at the St. Croix rods and am wondering if its possible 2 kill 2 birds with one stone.
Will the travel rod stand up to the wear and tear of more frequent use I want to get out of it as a standard plugger? Does it loose any action being a 4 pc?
The other alternative is get the 2 pc and down the road buy an albright travel rod. Since the St. Croix travel rod is much more than the standard 9' ($230 vs $140) getting both rods would only be about $50 bucks more.
Thoughts? Any one have both St. Croix 9' rods?
