Default REPORT: Finally, a Striped friend

Latest entry from my Fishing Log

May 16th
Finally! Headed down to Rowley to check out Rick's camp on the Rowley River (in the background). Saw several creek mouths on each side of camp that were high potential areas fer Bass. Wasnt long after we started working the bank that a fish walloped my trusty, go-to early Spring time lure.....4" Gag's Mr. Bunker rattletrap. 4th year in a row the same lure has scored the first Striper of the year. Luckily this fish was a little bigger than a schoolie, so it made the chilly, damp, rainy weather a little more tolerable. Instead of attacking the Mr. Bunker rattler, which most fish seem to do (reaction strike), this fish just casually ate it, no violent strike, the lure was all the way inside its mouth. Most of the time they will hit it so hard it will catch outside the mouth, etc. So this fish was pretty hungry in my estimation. It's stomach looked plump, healthy fish. Didnt notice any lice.

Boy did it feel good to see one! I gave that fish a huge kiss, hugged it, then sent 'em on his way :)
