Default Summary of Hudson River Tagging study

This study was done during 1984 to 1988. That large hudson river stripers join others of mixed origin to wintering grounds off the mid Atlantic coast to places like Cape Hattaras. Cape hattaras holds an unbelievable amount of bait fish. Suggesting a prime reason for the wintertime foray.

I have read subsequent studies that suggest the hudson river strain doesnt migrate as much as the Atlantic (Chesapeake) strain does, But this study suggests that migrational distance is proportional to fish size.

The gulf strain a Riverine strain stocked in the ACE Basin of South Carolina apparantly isnt migrational at all.
