Default New to Surf fishing

I new to surf fishing and new to Striped Bass fishing and have a couple of questions. First is there anyone on this message board that lives around Brooklyn NY that can suggest some places to fish? Next what is the best set -up tackle wise? What about jigs and bucktails or is bait better?

Michael
