Default current rain storm

lets just hope this storm dosent turn this river upside down like it did a few years ago. that horrible year after that storm that shut the fishing down for almost the rest of the season. everywhere u looked there was debris in the water. sucked fishing from shore cuz u would get hung up on logs and other crap. also must of sucked for u boaters trying not to hit the submerged ones

I was down by the river yesterday alot of trees and wood floating around. The water looks like brown paint.Hopefully the rain ends early and the water clears up for the weekend.

The river it seems was loaded up before this storm... I fished in hyde park a few times last week and the river was swamped with debri. And another thing was i got caught up on the bottom almost every cast and in the years past have hardly got snagged while fishing the same location.....

Supposed to clear up and start a real nice stretch of weather starting Wed. We have a min of 2-3 weeks to go up this way, so not really concerned about it just yet.

But can't trust the weathermen all the time either.

It happens every year normally. I expect muddy water every year when the stripers fist get hear thats how it always is. and thats the time we use chunk bait instead of whole live herring. so eaither way it dont matter we all still fish.

That's a KEY point. Early on the water is cold and muddy. The stripers don't want to have to chase anything AND they can find a chunk easier than a whole live herring when it murky.

We needed this rain to melt the snow so the water can warm up and the debris can wash away its a good sign and perfect timein for the northern hudson

It could be worse. I'm sure you all saw the news and all the flooding out to our east like in Rhode Island. They got between 12-14" of rain. We put our docks in this weekend, the Hudson is a little high, but we still have a few weeks until we start fishing. I just got my boat out and down to Coeyman's for a little service. Looks to me like everything is right on schedule, providing we don't get any more of these nor'easters!!! Good luck to everyone this season!
