With the new regulation this year, I'm thinking of using smaller herring and targeting the bass in the 18" to 28" (closer to 28") range rather than trying for the 40" plus fish. My thinking is I'd like to put some fish in the freezer rather than trying for trophy bass which is not as likely to happen. If the fishing is good and I have some fish to eat, I would probably change tactics and try for that Kodak moment pig, but only after I have some fillets for the grill. Any one have any thoughts on this. I've never tried to catch smaller fish, I don't think it's in a fisherman's nature, but it only seems logical given the 18-28 over 40 reg. Thoughts?
not bait this small though!!
