Default help me pick a new reel

I got a new 10' ugly stik MH action.. The reel that came with it is garbage with 1 ball bearing and I don't even want to give it a try.. I fish from shore and use 20# mono line .. Just looking for input.. Not really looking for baitrunner just standard spinning reel.. Any ideas? Around or under $100

Check out the penn sargus or battle, both around 100 $, I have 1 of each super smooth ton of bearings, great drag also okuma has some descent reels for a little less money

I have the battle on a rod I use for musky fishing and it is a well built tough reel. Ive had mine for a year now and I never had a issue with it.

Bass Pro Shop has the Battle with free shipping. I own several different sizes and they are by far the best bag for the buck out there. Good luck!!

Around 100 is about top dollar for me. My reels take a bit of a beating shore fishing with the dirt/rocks. If I had a boat it would be a different story

I'm looking at a 6000D and I think that will even be big for stripers (from a boat). Are you tuna fishing too with that 1200D, seems big for the river. Either way, I'm glad to hear you like that reel.

Sorry to hijack the thread, good luck with the Penn!

Mike

I have a battle 6000 and am pretty happy with it. Have used it for 3 seasons and no issues. Have it strung up with 30lb braid.
