Seriously? People everywhere get so wound up. Please they will be here in bear mountain towards e end of April. May is best. Those schoolies you guys are catching aren't on a "run" they live here for 3 years. 20 years of doing this and it happens every year it's always great. I've been getting some serious bass thumb from the local lakes via kayak until may, blood worms are way to expensive to feed little minnows

stay on the topic. dont judge someone if they catch schoolies . its all part of fishing . if they are happy to catch a schoolie so be it .

yeaa I agree... for some of us shore fisherman we wont see better then 30" fish anyway, especially us southern guys... we all dream of the cows but the runts are what keep us coming back day in and day out!

have heard reports of fish into the mid 20" range in that general area tho... gotta wet em to get em!

mostly schoolies in kingston. few friends sent me photos of fish between 22 and 30 inches though. i would say we have another 2 weeks before we see anything to brag about. for now, troll in and out of the rondout creek with rapalas and/or use blood worms from shore, you'll hook up...

Caught a 25 lb "schoolie" in Croton yesterday. Mostly small fish around though. Water temp means more than time of year
