Default Help! Penn Live Liner Reel Assembly

I already have post up on the Penn boards, but thought i would check here to see if any locals could maybe help. This is a pretty common reel and I can't be be the only one who has had this problem...

I own the Penn Fierce 2 6000 Live Liner and I popped it open today just to apply some grease to the internal gears and after repeated attempts to put it back together, it still won't function properly. Something is jamming inside, the reel won't turn. I did not remove any of the internal parts when working on it, I simply unscrewed the main face plate to apply grease. Whats the secret to getting it back on properly so the reel will turn?

Thanks for any help/advice. The season is about to get under way and I'm in a bit of a panic. Oye, no good deed goes unpunished. I've been scouring google/youtube/other forums but so far, no luck other then a post that said to send it in to Penn.

Solved the problem. There is a tooth (pictured in the red circle below) that needs to be seated behind a pin when you place the cover back on for the reel to spin properly.

If any mods care to, this thread could probably be moved to the reels and maintenance sub.

Carry on.

Hey, Thanks for posting this! I don't have one of those reels, but I'm sure others do and may run into this as well.

Glad to hear you figured it out!
