Re: daiwa BG
I bought mine in the mid-eighties and it is a regular on my dads boat. The thing is beat up, but it still keeps working. I wish the drag was a little tougher, but I have never lost a fish because of it. I can not attest to the current build durability, but the one I bought will probably never die.
There has been vast upgrades in technology of the current evolution of reel. I am on the forums to get information on what reel I want to get. My dad and the boys that are local all swear by Shimanos and they are all way more experienced than I am.
But I am looking to duplicate the success of my first reel (BG 30) and am shopping hard for a Daiwa Regal BRI.
