Re: Bridge Fishing - Seacoast, NH
Trooper I do most of my fishing off the bridges in NH. If I am using cut bait I wait for the tide to start going out and I use a 7/0 circle hook with a ball bearing swivel and 24" of 40 LB leader and 25 LB smoke yozuri line (seems to hold up well to climate of bridge fishing). I usually use a 3/4 ounce egg sinker depending on the current. I find using a pyrymid and finder gets me crabs and stuck besides I want the bait to be taken by the current till it stops. I use a bait runner reel and let the current take it out. If I am using eels (which I love) I use a 5/0 circle with a 24" 40LB leader and the same line. I let the current take it to the slow water walk towards the end of the bridge and reel it very slowly. This method has landed me many large stipers including the one in my Avatar.
Hope this helps good luck and good fishing.
