Both sides and in the middle. The NY State Inland Striped Bass record was in the middle almost under the Kingston-Rhimecliff Bridge.

The one before that was caught from shore with a live herring off the bulkhead of the boat launch next to the RR Station not far from Red Hook. The guy tht caught it worked for one of the local towns highway department and was fishing after work.

You may have to park up the hill and walk down, but it seems worth it. There are several small parks and boat launches on both sides of the river all the way to Troy that allow fishing. Anyone of them could produce a fine striped bass.

The RR may be pissy, but there are several places you can legally cross the tracks and fish from shore.

Check it out.

Messed around at the HH park for 1/2 hour looking for Herring. Didn't see any of them but had a nice 30"+ pike follow it right up close and hang out for a minute, just wouldn't take it.

Water clearity is good.

Nobody else on shore , looked like a few guys at the launch i think just getting thier boats out for a shake down run.

Its quiet, too quiet. The lack of recent posts gives me the idea that someone is out fishing. And catching. Hmm.......
