yerstarday spent the whole day on croton point - very slow
instead of stripers i've caught a little alewife
few guys have caught a couple of 15" stripers and that was it.
the guys on the boats returned emptyhanded as well.and the weather
was beautiful

You should have thrown the alewife on a hook and see what happens
dont worry next week should be much better
the bite was sporadic this weekend but saw a few quality fish
barometer falling last 3 days so it should pick up
plus a new body of fish have moved in and will continue over the next few moons
water warming but when it hits 45-50 it should explode

RJC Those numbers come from http://www.rung.us/chas/rivtemp.pl

For a complete look try the us geo survey link in the forecast prediction link on the navigation bar up top. Real Time natl fresh water data.
Then use the converter to convert from Celcius to Farenheit.
I just dont have the time to plot them nor am I anal enough to do it- we just have to look them up

Here is the page that will help you

Thanks.

you can also try www.riverbasinsports.com they post a weekly fishing report and it usually has the temperature there in the catskill creek and in the river, but they said it's usually pretty consistant from albany to kingston. Read the report though it's pretty good, they put alot of interesting stuff in it and alot of effort into it...not just "caught 2 today"

Thanks for the tip! The link needs an extra 's' though. Here is a good one for it: http://www.riverbasinsports.com/

I may talk to my fishing partner about going out April 16 or 17. He's the one with the boat. I hope it's not too early. If I don't go on the Hudson, I'll have to settle for lakers, salmon and browns on Otsego Lake.

I fish albany area and the way the weather has been i think you wont catch herring on rigs until the 20-25th and even then they wont come easy.dont know much abaut stoolies but i do know they dont hit rigs untill they spawn and without warm weather the spawn delays. Fishing the last 5 seasons 96 being the best year for myself and everyone i talk to ,this year resembles the last two crap exept for the fact the snowmelt happened earlier. I do have to say i have higher hopes than 97 and 98.
