Default Just wanted to introduce myself

Hello all, sorry for not joining sooner been lurking for awhile and have been impressed with the sight and felt the need to contribute. I'm a SoCal striper fanatic strictly Skinner specialist and dabble a little at DVL. Gonna be out at Skinner again tomorrow so I'll give a report on Monday. Dodoman I believe I've met you at Skinner one day down by the inlet. Looking forward to hooking up one of these days with you. Nothing but love for the stripers,

Thanks guys, was at skinner on Saturday it was just ok. No big fish never really even had a look from a DD. But stuck it out on chovies and the slider and finished with 8. I'll get a picture up real soon, no size just good eating fish, 3-5lbs every fish. Picked up 1 from a secret hotspot and the rest from the inlet. Not a drop of water coming out of the inlet but the lake is way up. Did meter a lot of LMB sitting on structure but the fish are still way deep. Most fish metered were 35-38' consistently. Never saw another fish hooked. THey were getting a few rainbows at #2 but not another striper by anyone. The weather was gorgeous, sorry about that guys from the east coast.
Wade.

I like the brown trout pattern, Yeah I'm gonna have to get up to DVL and start learning that lake. You know you work so hard to learn a lake especially skinner and then it's hard to steer away from it and explore elsewhere. It's really gonna be hard in the next couple of months knowing where the big ones are at in skinner and actually HOW BIG they have gotten. My best is only 31lbs but it would not surpise me in the least to double that.

ive seen a school of 15-20 lb stripers chasing the stocked trouts on a clear water day.
it was a sight to see.
a friend of mine just yanked a 27lber on a zplug at the inlet, a few weeks back.
i love skinner, cause in most days , its not lake liced as others.
when july comes around, we need to hookup.
i now a really good hole, where the l.m.b hangs out after breeding season is over.
my biggest lmb to this day is a 9lber out of skinner.
as for striper, in this weather, best to slide the chovie, and/ or troll a small rattle l through the rigde.
its the deeepest part of the channel the leads to the inlet.
if you have a fish finder, locate the 50ft depth, starting from the marina heading towards the inlet.
once you find it, SUPER SLOW TROLL anything is chrome, white, or trout colors.

if you wanna swimbait fishing, wait a day or 2 after trout stock and go to ramp 2, and chuck that thing and let it sit ( dead sticking ).

every 5 min or so, give it a quick jerk.

I knew about the channel out of the Marina but I really appreciate the info so I'll tell you mine. I got my 31pounder at the buoy line on the North side. 3 of the biggest fish I hooked at skinner were all at #2. But all my big fish are coming on huge top water plugs. The other big fish came from the inlet. My biggest LMB at skinner was just caught on the 12th of December and it came from the BL on the north side in 55 degree water go figure. On an 8"spook imitation. I appreciate the offer buddy and I would go in a heartbeat saturday ceptin its the mother in laws birthday and we got family coming from as far away as San Francisco or I would be sneaking out of the house in a heartbeat. Good thing my wife don't read the forums cause I'll be at skinner Sunday morning for sure. Love the baits I want another gold swim bait just for the carp spawn at skinner.

this is me holding my friends striper ( its 2 lb shy of breaking the lake record).
he had one close to 40lb, when the line snapped.
lost 3 swimbaits $$$ before he caught that one.

there coming out from the deep and search to mate.
