Default Blood Worms

Thinking about giving Blood Worms a whirl for the first time this weekend coming just wondering if anyone knows what they cost at River Basin or at RJ's in coxsackie if they have them before I drop 70 bucks to have them shipped from Maine. These are the only 2 bait shops I no of in Greene county. Also are these worms decent size or are they trout worms disguised as bloods. What about Conroys in watervliet work with a guy who lives near there and will pick up for me. Or has anyone ever dealt with the bloodworm dealers either bloodworm depot or Maine bait. Any and all help greatly appreciated.

About a $1 a worm is what i recall from seasons past, when buying them by the dozen around Albany. Haven't bought any this year. Not sure what the bulk rate might be if your looking into shipping them.

Definitely check them before you pay. I've been burned a few times by a local shop selling toothpick sized junk that couldn't fit on a hook. $10-12 a dozen in our area. Personally, I'd stick with herring since they're here.

I just bought some for $12.50 a dozen plus tax at Hudson River Bait & Tackle yesterday. I watched the owner take them out and put them in the container. They looked decent size and very lively. Hes at 85 South St. in Rensselaer. The owner seems like a real nice guy and has quite a bit of other striper fishing gear.

Went there this morning since I live in catskill but he was sold out. Thanks all. Think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and buy online. Tom at river basin is a good guy been shopping there for over 20 years, he did give me some that he was just gonna get rid of so thanks to him at least I can try them. Better than nothing.

NDA in RedHook has a variety of baits if you can make the trip down there.
