Not a bad afternoon. We put in at about 3:30 p.m. at the Fairfax Ramp and fished that general area. Nothing happened until close to sundown, but about a half hour before sundown we found the wipers stacking up at the inlets. We trolled with chartreuse colors exclusively and took five fish, the smallest was three pounds and the largest was about six pounds. I even saw a few busting larger shad at the surface. It was good to again, but the lake is still real high. I don't think most boats can launch at Hardin Ridge, but the ramp at the dam is a fine, steep place for bigger boats. Water temp was 61 degrees and, as always this year, the weather was real iffy. We saw everything from whitecaps early on to glassy waters at sunset, and on the way home we got rained on.

Great day on the water!
