Rain, Rain, Go Away...
Kennebec River is flowing at over 40000 cubic feet per second. Once river settles and clears Striper Fishing is going to bust wide open...
They are here but almost impossible to fish for...
Once the dust settles. The hunt is on...
Will post as soon as the bite is on...

Good to hear that the conditions are improving. I fished the Kennebec about a week ago and caught a 20 inch shad, no stripers. First time i've ever caught a shad, I foul hooked it. Good fight, lots of them in the river as I pulled up a few scales on my hook a couple different times.

Things in the Kennebec are getting alot better.
Caught a 36 incher in Sebasticook on monday. I posted pic.
Schoolie action is hot also we have together caught over 100 fish in 3 days...
Caught so many on Monday between 11 and 1 that I had to stop fishing my hand was cramping up...
Top water only.
Jumping minnow is the hot lure right now...
Got alot of rain coming thursday into weekend.
Definitly will raise water levels again... aaargh.
Bait fish are still running by the thousands...
Talked to a gentleman and his wife yesterday that flew up from Bowdoinham in his helicopter they were counting Eagles along Kennebec and Sebasticook.
They said they counted 47 of them.
Its an awesome sight to be fishing and watching baldeagles snatch bait from river right in front of you...
Starting out to be a record year for us.
St. Croix all the way

Its funny how when the Stripers start smacking Topwater its like an addiction..
My Son and I Fish every evening together..
He's turned into a good StriperFisherman..
Last Night we had a few more guys show up, the words getting out...
I could tell they were very green to striper fishing, we watched as they fished with not any luck as to a hit..
Then my son has enough of watching and first cast stuck a 26 incher.. Should have seen look on other kids face.. My son caught 10 more shoolies.. What kid wouldnt be hooked on Striperfishing?
The two fellows fishing came over and said what are we doing wrong, your son is smashing them...
We are alittle curious..
Of course Lure choice and color and size make a huge difference..
I gave the kid one helpful tip, work your lure alot slower than what you have been doing..
First cast he nailed his first ever Striper, he was excited and should I say. HOOKED!!!!!

p.s.
The Big Boys are starting to invade... know of three 36inchers caught and one 38 incher caught in Kennebec...
Cant say by who though?

hey i know people don't really disclose locations but I was wondering if you could give me some maybe general location adivice? I live in Bath and have fished alot off the local beaches like popham and have had no luck. Is the river section below the dam near seadog brewery a good spot? I have good equipment now but would like to try the kennebec or other local rivers, but just don't know where to go
