05-25-10. Behold the NEW state record for striped bass in Indiana. Captured on Cecil M. Harden Reservoir by Jon VanHook from Rockville, IN aboard ISBA member Shay Vandiviers boat, Comp-Time II.

Fish weighed in at 39.08lbs at 42 1/4 in long, 30 inch girth. This was Jon's first time at striper fishing too!

Congrats Jon... "that's INCREDIBLE'

Re: NEW Striped Bass State Record for Indiana

is'nt that the way it goes?
Absolutely!

Funny too as I was out several days prior and boated a prespawn male that was shy 2 1/2lbs of the record. Told my crew all its going to take is a female from this stock and its over.

Next thing I know Shay hooked into that female a couple days later. The rest is history

It couldn't of happened to a nicer guy.

redi rigs
Been trying them out this year and they've been working out great. So much We ordered several more and some of the larger sizes for cats on the river.

Angler aboard the "Little Casino" with an Indiana pig. Notice: Redi-Rig top right hand corner.

The fish have been turning on to the topwater bite lately. Ever since the water temp hit 80 and the flows stabilized after the rain, the Hybrid catching has improved.

Caught this big girl last night. She was full of eggs. Kind of weird. I know that hybrids can't reproduce, but it didn't occur to me they still produced eggs. I wasn't expecting to see them. I really didn't want to kill this fish, but I fought her too long (she had me wrapped in a submerged tree) and she died when I tried to revive her. Same way I always catch them-Spook jr. on a gravel bar at sunset.

9 pounds 1 ounce.:mental:
