What a great season! Last year sucked, but I caught a lot of nice fish this year, including a personal best with pic below. 48" and about 50 lbs caught near trenton in April, she was out of the water for all of a few minutes and swam away easily for another day....Picture came from a camera phone-sorry for the low quality...of the photo.
Many more in the high 30's and low 40's.
Had to get a Striper fix since all of ours are gone in the upper hudson.Had a great time out of cape cod for the day.Between the 4 of us we had 40 stripers within 3 hours.Sweet..
Drifting the rips and Bucktail jigs.
Tough fishing last night as NOAA got it wrong again. Instead of a light west wind we had a steady SE, drift was FAST! Any way we lost two (one to the uni snell) and got 1 that was 25# on the Boga. She was released.
The bay turned on this morning at 0530. We left thedock with at 3 man charter at 500 am. I made a run to Tiverton were I marked a loi of bait yesterday but still nothing on the bottom so we ran around past Hog Island and Prudence and by 0742 I had a boat limit of 8 nice bass we figured it went just over 200 lbs of fish. We fished until 0900 with maybe 10 or 12 released. A Good day for The Rebel,
The charter today was simply amazing, hell i was having fun just catching pogies in the morning before we went out for bass. we filled the boat rather quickly. Oh! I caught my personal best bass 37" 25lbs
Thanks River Rebel crew for an amazing charter. I would highly recommend this charter to anyone that is interested in going out.
This was a gift to my father for fathers day!
Here is one of the thirty plus stripers caught in Chatham last weekend with the bubblegum color GS bait. This is the eight inch version used on the top.
Hooked up with Jimmy the other night....had a few bass and a keeper walleye. My only fish of the night was this pig of a largemouth caught on a 5' ultralight with 6 pound test!
GotStryper out of Chatham has been hitting a lot of bass with both spinining rods and fly rods. Attached is a picture of a bass caught last Sunday on a fly rod, even though the wind was stiff. This was one of thirty bass caught and released within a four hour stint.
GotStryper got stripers today (more than three dozen!! with the captain and two fisherman). Attached is a picture of one of the fish that was caught with the bubblegum GS bait today.
Yesterday, me, East Coast and another buddy. Some of the best fishing I have seen in a while. Over 25 fish, 4 in the dinner box, 38 inches biggest, but a great day all around.
Re: best bite I've ever seen ... Ohio River - McAlpine pool
Bite was just decent this morning. COE dropped the water level by 2 feet while we were fishing (less than 3 hours). So not only did the boat get beached, but the bite was off a bit. Certainly was not in the real good fish like yesterday. Biggest fish today went 9 (hybrid). Biggest stripe went 5. For perspective in the pics I'm 6'5" and my buddy is 6'3".
a few from last week biggest was 50" with a 29" girth.... two were 46" one was 48" with a 30" girth.... I havent got around to putting the scale in the boat yet...All were released to fight another day.
Found the big girls again!! I got my personal best @ 40# including a 28 and a25#. I also had 3 swings and misses. I haven't kept one in a while so I kept one for the grill(not the 40#er).
