Default Raccoon 5/5-5/6

I had 2 trips over the weekend. Saturday, we went 2 for 5 with a 21 lb and a 25 lb. Sunday, conditions were tough as it was very windy and boat control was tough. Went 2 for 2, with a 7 lb. and a 25 lb. I've been pulling some "big boys" out lately. In 3 trips this year, I've pulled 5 out over 20 lbs.

Those are some really well fed stripers! Raccoon Lake looks quite the striper fishery! Nice job!

My "secret" is fat and happy bluegills and a lot of luck! We can't use shad here in Indiana yet but the Stripers seem pretty satisfied with bluegills so far.

Those are certainly some awesome fish. I am new to the site and to striper fishing as well. I have caught wipers on lake Monroe as a kid (shore fishing) but I am trying to teach myself a new skill and would be interested in any tips related to catching stripers out of the boat. I am a seasoned bass fisherman and this is a totally new thing for me. Can anyone give me tips on tactics for stripers on Raccoon, I am planning an outing at the end of May and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Erdoct, Tim hasn't logged into this forum since February 2010, but is still actively chartering. Spending a day with a guide like Tim will do wonders for your learning curve and is a great investment. His website is http://www.skamaniaccharters.com/

I would LOVE to get a guide for a day or two, but as I am recently divorced I find myself a bit thin on extra cash. I have done that on Lake Michigan and on Table Rock and it was awesome, learned a lot. I will check out the website and if I get the oppertunity I will definately give him a call. Thanks for the link!

Hello erdoct, I too am trying to learn how to fish for striper on Raccoon. I met Tim this summer at the ramp at Raccoon Lake. He is a wealth of knowledge and easy to talk to. If you are interested I would be willing to go with you fishing with Tim and split the cost. Contact me at [email protected]
