Well hit the water first light this morning and was blown off by 10 by winds that were "supposed to be" 5-10mph ended up being more like 25-35. Wasnt happy, incredible waste of gas and time, but hey it happens. Launched in cheviot ran from there to esopus creek mouth where we fished till the wind started blowing so hard that we were starting to get wet from the spray and couldnt keep the boat strait no matter what we did. We did mark large schools of bait fish in and around the mouth of the esopus and down the flats. Hoping to give it a shot again tomorrow, will be studying the weather forecast a bit more though. Water temp was 48.6 at the launch and 51.9 at the esopus creek mouth.

On a positive note did get to meet shadow at the launch when we came in. Nice chatting with you shadow I'm sure we'll run into eachother again down that way, Good luck and keep in touch.

Landed 2 at Croton Bay at sunrise: One was 27 inches, the other was 29.

Water was 45deg (at 5:45am). No wind. Some cloud cover. Perfect conditions.

Good luck getting down there! Those idiots from DOT once again this year felt the need to work down there and make it VERY difficult to access the creek, but there WERE some people down there today.

Late post. went out this past Monday covering the area around the Esopus lighthouse. Nothing hitting but it's only a matter of time. Great day to be out there.

The guys tell me that they got about 50 in 45 minutes last evening. When I go out I will come in by boat- will let you know if I am lucky or not- also saw them jigging at Columbiaville today ( 20 minutes- saw none taken )
